Mages work quite like you would expect, they perform spells and can do so at either melee or at a range. The class provides the player a number of options for builds. Want to build a slippery and evasive mage that specialises in avoiding attacks at all ranges, then dishing the hurt back? You can. Want to build a life-stealing pyromancer that heals as it hurts? You can. Want to build a mage tank, that can neither move or be moved? Whelp, you can do that too.

See, there is a fair bit of diversity there, and it means that mages don’t all have to be frail glass cannons. You take take the tank route early, to get DEF stat rolls and talents, then finish up with a fire damage dealing focus, to build your Mage exactly how you want. Durable, and damaging? Perfect!
