The Adept class is probably up there with ranger in how diverse that builds can be, and ways that you can use the class. Their starting class skill in Chain is one of the best utilities in the game, and can frequent strategies across every difficulty, but can really be utilized to save your bacon on Deity difficulty.
That’s not the only thing that makes them useful though, they can specialize in either magic or melee damage. If you get early rolls in magic, and want to explore a nuke-adept, that’s absolutely something that can work, and I’ve rolled this build and it’s very effective.
If you want to follow the Bolt tree for mobility and chain range, then you’ve built yourself a chain-bot that can move and disable units across the map easily. Adepts can even be dodge tanks! Specc them for spear wielding throughout, equip the strength aids in dodge chance artifact, and you’ve got a dodge tank! You can the Astral route, grab lifesteal and huge HP rolls, and just be a traditional beefy tank too.
These are just scratching the surface of the different ways that you can play the adept, and as you can see, it’s extremely diverse and really up to your fancy. As far as the overview, we’re going to start with the stats and abilities of the base class in Adept, then the stats and abilities of each of the promotional options at level ten, then finally the stats and abilities of the final promotions at level thirty.
