In a desperate attempt to bolster his recruit ranks, King Varic of the Kingdom of Delia expedites the graduation of all students at the Brookstead Military Academy, severing a pact that has stood for a thousand years. 1. Just checking out this game since it's basically Fire Emblem.

Not sure if I'll do a Let's Play yet. I got tons of other things to do on the channel, but I wanted to at least make a video recording my first impressions.

  2. As someone who's got 4 hours in, the game feels kinda slow. Not egregiously slow like tellius fe, it's not that slow. It's slow as in maps seem to take a few more turns than it would in FE. There's a castle map with 2 recruits, and you have to open the door to their room THEN open the cell. It's those subtle decisions that make it feel slower/longer. But at the same time, maps have all had various objectives, there was a defend map, survive map, attack the castle map, and a map with portals in the first 6 chapters, keeping it interesting. Difficulty is… hard to tell? You face a lot of crit, but enemies generally have a hard time hitting in the first place, and most units are pretty tanky. I picked the medium difficulty, and I've only had one person defeated. (Dang it, Elias.) It feels very easy, but not in a bad way, at least to me. It's got a sort of relaxing march through the game type difficulty, but it's always got something happening whether it be in map design or the rng being wacky to keep it interesting. Overall very enjoyable so far, but I'm interested to see how much harder hard mode is, and the plot can't keep my attention. Some characters are cool, Lincoln is bad ass. Garrick is also cool, his supports are funny so far.

    I'd give the game a 4/5 stars.
and like 7.5 to 8 out of 10.

still interested to see mangs play more
    also phase with sage op

Edit to make comments along with the video:
I think a single hp proc gives +2 hp all the time. hp stat boosters boost them by odd numbers, such as the steak that gives +5 hp.
Tier tokens are for weapon upgrades.
Crits are double damage, pretty sure.
Garrick is really good, from my experience. He's got a lot of strength and can take multiple hits, so throwing him in there isn't a bad idea.

  3. I feel like Mangs is a bit biased since it’s a fan made game – but I agree to some extent that the music isn’t perfect. It could have been toned down (or even slowed down for that matter) – the gameplay is pretty solid, the writing seems pretty solid. There is descriptions for everything so it doesn’t seem to be so hard to learn the game. Overall I really like it. I like that crits only do 2x damage (way less emphasis on trying to crit everything but nice when you get them and not gut wrenching every time an enemy does – which allows for more balance crit wise and the fielding of more enemies; in other words seems balanced differently)

  4. So, each weapon archetype does different things.
Red: high might, some crit, heavy weight
Blue: average might, high crit, average weight
Green: low/mid might, high accuracy, low /medium weight
Yellow: medium bonuses to all stats and generally the lowest weight.
The disarm skill removes these unique bonuses so they are effectively fighting off of their stats alone.
