  1. While I think the gameplay is very fun, imo the map design is very bad. The art is really good, same with the character designs. The game has a very bad tutorial and there are a lot of bugs. Game balancing just left the building too, you lose 4 stats when dieing. But you get a perfect level up very often.

  2. A few tips:
Since you forgot how to do it, you can use left and right arrow keys to cycle through weapons when you're about to attack an enemy, make sure to do this every time, since there are 4 categories of weapons: Power, Crit, Accuracy, and Balanced (Which is mainly for doubling) and its super important.
You can use wasd to scroll the map around
If an enemy has a blue star at the top right of them on the map, that means they have an item you can get by killing them
Weapon tokens are used to upgrade weapons, to upgrade a weapon you go to the upgrade section while at camp, and hold down left click on the upgrade button of the weapon you want to upgrade, don't just click it, you need to hold it down. The numbers at the top of this screen show how many tier 1, 2, 3, and 4 tokens you have. This is also a super important feature as enemy's weapons get upgraded too. You can buy more at the shop, and its a very good idea to do so.
If you press shift over a unit to see their info, hover your mouse over their weapon type at the top, above their armor type, and it will show you what weapon type is good against which armor type. It's perhaps the biggest factor in the entire game and changes everything. Certain weapon types are effect against certain armor types. Like for example, magic is really good against plate armor, which Irving has. The mage in chapter 1 can do 17 damage because magic I think is like, +30% damage against plate armor which is a massive difference.
You can hit the little circular arrow thing above a unit's stats in the unit stat screen to see their growth rates
The letters at the top of the combat screen are labeled S-E, this number determines how much of an advantage you have over the opponent. The mastery stat also helps with this. It factors in many things like the weapon and armor typing matchup, the general stats compared between you two, and your odds of winning the battle.
During level ups, you may see HP get +2, this is because by default everyone gets 1 HP per level up, so their HP growth rate is their chance of getting an additional +1 HP during a level up.

  3. Yo a tip for once you reach the midgame: when you pick promotions for the later joining units they will autolevel with the class growths shown, I think the devs want to add a stat preview to that screen, but I'm not sure if that is in the game yet. For the ranger characters for example I found that Drifter makes their bases near unusable because they get way less strength and speed than the other promo options, I think that's to make up for some late game synergies they have because of their crit boosting skills.
