Attack ranges in this game are mildly confusing.

In a desperate attempt to bolster his recruit ranks, King Varic of the Kingdom of Delia expedites the graduation of all students at the Brookstead Military Academy, severing a pact that has stood for a thousand years. With the course of their future undemocratically derailed, these four “graduates” of the Brookstead Academy set out to leave their mark on this world. This is their story.

  1. Notably, you only skip animations on promotion if you press "Enter" to promote (as this is the button for skipping animations) and if you instead click on "Promote" on the screen this doesn't happen. Obviously this is an issue with how the controller operates. As you pointed out in the endscreen, this is correct.

It's too bad your Irving got so screwed on levels. By 30 I think mine had 30+ strength and I went dragoon as well. His growths are bonkers.

Something to touch on is class balance, not just on player side, but enemy side as well. Playing against enemy magicians and tricksters is so rough. So fast, dodgy and hits like a bus. I'm not 100% on this, but it feels like the enemy is assigned growths based on their class, which is brutal when they are in T3 classes (as the growths are higher and more specialized). This becomes very evident in a couple chapter's time (thinking the fight in the treehouse and the one in the castle, hoo boy) where you just don't get to hit the enemies unless your name is Cia or you have a maxed green weapon.
